Dr. Alexandra Scherk is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry (ABO), distinctions that reflect her commitment to the highest standards of clinical excellence, professional achievement, and lifelong learning.

Dr. Scherk completed a specialized residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at BronxCare Health System, where she received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex ocular conditions.

 

Throughout her career, Dr. Scherk has cared for patients in hospital systems, community health centers, and private practice settings across New York, Connecticut, and the Boston area. This has given Dr. Scherk a broad experience in treating patients of all ages and with diverse eye care needs.

Dr. Scherk provides comprehensive optometric care, including routine and medical eye examinations, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, dry eye evaluation and treatment, specialty and routine contact lens fittings, eyeglass prescriptions, and pre- and post-operative co-management for cataract and refractive surgery.

 

Dr. Scherk is dedicated to delivering personalized, compassionate care and believes that patient education is essential to preserving lifelong vision. By combining the latest evidence-based treatments with a thoughtful, individualized approach, she strives to help every patient achieve and maintain optimal eye health.

Outside the office, Dr. Scherk enjoys traveling, maintaining an active lifestyle, exploring New York City, and spending time with her Maltipoo, Stanley, as well as with her family and friends.
